The Brock Review

The Brock Review is an interdisciplinary peer-reviewed journal published by the Humanities Research Institute at Brock University. The journal previously existed in print format, with the last issue (volume 9) appearing in 2005. The journal was relaunched in an online, open-access format in 2008. The Brock Review is included in the Directory of Open Access Journals.

Special Issue: Responding to Congress 2014, Borders without Boundaries

The interdisciplinary, Brock Review, published by the Humanities Research Institute (HRI) at Brock University, seeks articles and creative pieces based on work presented at Congress 2014: Borders without Boundaries. Scholarly articles should be 15 – 20 pages in length, double-spaced, and use 12 pt., Times New Roman font. They should adhere to the MLA Style Guide, 7th edition regarding in-text citation and works cited and include endnotes where necessary. Please note that the page-lengh here is specific to this special issue, and it replaces the 25-page limit listed under "author guidelines." Submissions that exeed 20 pages will not be considered for publication.

Manuscripts should be original works and should not be published (or under consideration for publication) in another venue. Manuscripts should be submitted via the journal website (www.brocku.ca/brockreview). Each submission must be accompanied by a 100-word abstract and a brief biography of the author. It is the sole responsibility of the author to obtain any necessary copyright permissions for images accompanying an essay. If your essay is accepted for publication, you must provide copies of these permissions before your essay can be published.

Creative work (i.e.: paintings, photographs, poetry, short fiction, or other types of work suitable to the online format of the journal) will also be considered for publication and should be submitted in an electronic format. In the event that your submission is too large of a file to submit online, CDs or DVDs may be sent to the address below. Creative work must be accompanied by a statement indicating the creator(s) of the piece have given consent to have it included in The Brock Review.
